Simone Youngs is new Chief Conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra

With a series of 19 concerts in five weeks Simone Young takes up her post as principal conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Her inauguration also marks the orchestra's reopening of the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, which will be accessible again on 20 July 2022, after two and a half years of renovations. To kick off the reopening, Simone Young conducts Gustav Mahler's 2nd Symphony five times.
