Simone Young conducts Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel in Sydney

Simone Young is back with the Syndey Symphony Orchestra, of which she has been principal conductor since July 2022. Three concerts featuring Rimsky-Korsakov's „Scheherazade“ and Ravel's Piano Concerto for the Left Hand are on the programme. Ravel wrote the piece for Paul Wittgenstein, a war veteran who had lost an arm. He created an epic work with - a triumph of artistry that sets no limits to expression. The soloist is Cédric Tiberghien, who frequently works with Simone Young.
