Simone Young back with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra
Simone Young has been Principal Conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra since summer 2022. She will now return to her orchestra for a series of concerts in February and March 2024. She has planned three different programs for the Australian audience: In addition to Mahler's 5th Symphony, Beethoven's 2nd Symphony and Schumann's 2nd Symphony, she will also conduct Schoenberg's Gurre-Lieder. She has also selected two works by female composers for the concerts: The French composer Camille Pépin is represented with one work, as is the Australian composer Peggy Glanville-Hicks. The concerts with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will take place from 28.2. - 16.3.2024.
